The CSLR Board is preparing the way to seek two new Board Members for the Board of Trustees to be voted in on March 9, 2025. An applicant must have two CSL Certificated Courses completed to be considered. This is to demonstrate you have a comfortable understanding of the philosophy. The Board works on consensus and is shaped by a code of conduct to bring the best of one another forward to oversee the greater good of our Center. It is a sincere act of Seva. Our Children’s Program is looking for dedicated teachers to be in service once a month to help shape the spiritual understanding of these beautiful faces of God. Bonnie Lantiegne, our dedicated Children’s Church Director, has asked several times over the summer for volunteers to step forth and be a part of this rewarding leg of ministry to children. So far, no one has answered the call. We would be so grateful for a couple of people willing to commit to one Sunday a month in service to the children. The Center’s Children's Church provides a wonderful program for children (infants to teens) that focuses on enhancing self-esteem, teaching spiritual principles, and awakening creativity. Different groups are designed to meet the changing needs of young people as they mature. In addition, a nursery for those three and under is available at the 10:00 a.m. service. If you would like to help by serving as a Sunday teacher or teacher assistant with the children, please contact Bonnie at 530-722-7304.

We request that all parents fill out a registration form and photo release form for their children to make sure that we have updated information for all our students. Traditional Hatha Yoga is an holistic Yogic path, including disciplines, postures (asana), purification procedures (shatkriya), gestures (mudra), breathing (pranayama), and meditation. The Hatha Yoga predominantly practiced in the West consists of mostly asanas understood as physical exercises (postures). It is also recognized as a stress-reducing practice that attempts to balance body and mind. Asanas teach poise, balance, and strength, and are practiced to improve the body’s physical health, and to clear the mind in preparation for meditation. There aren’t many people in the world who have made a greater impact on how to power-up the process of decision making than Dr. Raymond Charles Barker. An early leader in the New Thought movement, he was a student of Dr. Ernest Holmes, served as president of the Religious Science Institute, and founded the First Church of Religious Science in Manhattan. In 1968, he published his classic book, The Power of Decision, which propelled his ministry to such heights that its Sunday meetings were held at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center. What an exciting class to share together. We are using the new book by Melissa Rose Harris entitled Where Our Humanity Meets Our Divinity. Some of you might remember Melissa Harris when she was an active member of our Center several years ago before she and her husband, Tim, moved to Nebraska. Charlie and I have stayed in contact with Melissa and have had the joy to meet up with one another at the Parliament of World Religions a couple of times. It was at one of those conferences that she responded to the sacred calling to study ministry, and her journey started by enrolling in an Interfaith Seminary. She was charged with a Divine Call that continued to lead her into a deep study of “what it means to be human and holy”. Maybe you have wrestled with the same paradox. Her authentic guidance into the curiosity of the mystical path is heart opening. As you read…you feel like you are part of the conversation throughout the book, which is available in the Awareness Bookstore. We are eager to share this with one another as we lean into what she describes as “embracing our human condition and surrendering to the sacredness within it.” Rev. Sue and Charlie will be hosting the evenings for five weeks, both for those in person and for those on Zoom. Join us...we want to hear your insights, too!

In Sanatana Dharma, the ideal is always to be one with consciousness. The journey and purpose of life is to realize this ideal, through inner transformation, which is only possible through spiritual awareness. Our Master, His Holiness Sri Muralidhara Swamiji says, “Joy and sorrow are the only two known states of mind, as far as man is concerned. Divinity is to get past this dual state and be in a constant state of bliss”. Reality Retreat Meditation is one where we aim to retreat back to the Reality (consciousness) through the constant repetition of the Divine Mahamantra – the sound from the Happiness plane. The unique changing pattern of the Mahamantra (Greatest Mantra), 6-3-2 cycle, naturally takes our vision inward. Constant and dedicated repetition guarantees mental strength, proven to lead to happiness. Join me as we awaken more deeply to life by learning and practicing meditation and mindfulness techniques. Open to vibrant presence as we release what no longer serves us, embrace the present moment through the breath, and raise our vibration by inviting gratitude and love more fully into our lives. The teachings I share are based upon the education I received during a two-year meditation and mindfulness certification training led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. These concepts and practices also come from several years of mediation with a local monk, from a broad variety of books, and from an array of spiritual leaders. I believe there is something meaningful and significant to learn from each experience in life and from opening to a variety of methods and belief systems. My desire is to share my enthusiasm for meditation, and for deepening a connection to All. Some of my goals for this group are that together we will create a sense of deep connection and community.
