LENTEN MEDITATION - A SPIRITUAL PRACTICE
With Robert “Rob” Ward, RScP
Daily from March 5 to April 20, 2025
7:00 to 7:30 a.m. Online via Zoom
Lent is a season of preparation for Easter, coinciding with spring, the season of new growth in nature. Beginning with Ash Wednesday, we count 47 days to when we conclude on Easter morning. Easter always occurs on the first Sunday after the paschal full moon, or the first full moon after the vernal equinox. During Lent, we fast from unwanted beliefs. We feast on Truth. Metaphysically, Lent is a season of renewal and a period of reflection and release. Spiritually, we must release before we celebrate renewal - we must look at the shadow then turn to the light without flinching from either. We sweep away any thoughts that block our good before we affirm statements of Truth to guide our days. Join Rob Ward as, together, we Release and Renew, No registration required, just copy and paste link bellow in your Internet browser: https://zoom.us/j/91979659128?pwd=ejF1vwSox94sQfLDpqioL3B6VziJ9I.1. HATHA YOGA
With Rev. Sue MillerBorn
Mondays and Wednesdays of Each Week (September through June)
5:30 to 6:45 p.m. in the Sanctuary (except on holidays)
$5 per Person per Evening
Traditional Hatha Yoga is an holistic Yogic path, including disciplines, postures (asana), purification procedures (shatkriya), gestures (mudra), breathing (pranayama), and meditation. The Hatha Yoga predominantly practiced in the West consists of mostly asanas understood as physical exercises (postures). It is also recognized as a stress-reducing practice that attempts to balance body and mind. Asanas teach poise, balance, and strength, and are practiced to improve the body’s physical health, and to clear the mind in preparation for meditation. We will continue our usual schedule every Monday and Wednesday as we reenter a routine for our wellbeing. Zoom option will still be available. Please feel free to contact Rev. Sue MillerBorn at shantiananda@hotmail.com with any questions.

REALITY RETREAT
Retreating Back to the Reality of Consciousness
With Nithya Ram
Thursdays Each Week (except on holidays)
9:00 to 9:45 a.m. in the Meditation Pavilion
Donations Gratefully Accepted
In Sanatana Dharma, the ideal is always to be one with consciousness. The journey and purpose of life is to realize this ideal, through inner transformation, which is only possible through spiritual awareness. Our Master, His Holiness Sri Muralidhara Swamiji says, “Joy and sorrow are the only two known states of mind, as far as man is concerned. Divinity is to get past this dual state and be in a constant state of bliss”. Reality Retreat Meditation is one where we aim to retreat back to the Reality (consciousness) through the constant repetition of the Divine Mahamantra – the sound from the Happiness plane. The unique changing pattern of the Mahamantra (Greatest Mantra), 6-3-2 cycle, naturally takes our vision inward. Constant and dedicated repetition guarantees mental strength, proven to lead to happiness. This meditation strives to inspire all in the path of inner excellence, and to realize that our happiness is in our control. It helps to improve attention, relieve stress, bring positivity, and face challenges with poise.
AWAKENING TO ONENESS WITH LIFE MEDITATION
With Jill Matthews
Second and Fourth Thursdays of Each Month (except on holidays)
6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Meditation Pavilion
Suggested $10 Donation per Person
Join me as we awaken more deeply to life by learning and practicing meditation and mindfulness techniques. Open to vibrant presence as we release what no longer serves us, embrace the present moment through the breath, and raise our vibration by inviting gratitude and love more fully into our lives. The teachings I share are based upon the education I received during a two-year meditation and mindfulness certification training led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. These concepts and practices also come from several years of mediation with a local monk, from a broad variety of books, and from an array of spiritual leaders. I believe there is something meaningful and significant to learn from each experience in life and from opening to a variety of methods and belief systems. My desire is to share my enthusiasm for meditation, and for deepening a connection to All. Some of my goals for this group are that together we will create a sense of deep connection and community. That our meditation group will be a place where each participant will feel safe and accepted. Where there is no one right way, and where kindness and openness are always present. We will learn various tools that can assist in living with more peace and presence in our lives. Some topic examples are:
Dealing with difficult emotions
Accessing your Higher Self
Softening around stress
Present Moment Living
Confronting Fear
Finding answers
Mental Clarity
Grounding
Gratitude

Since its debut thirty years ago, this favorite by one of the world’s most beloved grief counselors has found a place in the homes and hearts of hundreds of thousands of mourners across the globe. Filled with compassion and hope, Understanding Your Grief helps you understand and befriend your painful, complex thoughts and feelings after the death of someone loved . Befriending grief may sound counterintuitive, but actually, your grief is your love for the person who died in a different form, and like that love, it’s also natural and necessary. Perhaps above all, Understanding Your Grief is practical. It’s built on Dr. Wolfelt’s Ten Touchstones, which are basic principles to learn and actions to take to help you engage with your grief and create momentum toward healing. This second edition maintains the content of the first edition and builds on it by adding concise wisdom on new topics such as the myth of closure, complicated and traumatic grief, grief overload, unmourned grief, loneliness, the power of ritual, and more. Excellent as an empathetic handbook for anyone in mourning as well as a text for support groups, Understanding Your Grief pairs with a guided journal. The book and journal are available in the Awareness Bookstore. Please Note: this class is specifically for those who’ve lost a partner or a spouse. Thank you.

In The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, Deepak Chopra distills the essence of his teachings into simple, yet powerful principles that can easily be applied to create success in all areas of your life by offering a life-altering perspective on attaining success: once we understand our true nature and learn to live in harmony with these natural laws, well-being, good health, fulfilling relationships, energy, enthusiasm for life, and material abundance can be achieved. Simple yet profound, the book’s timeless wisdom and practical steps can be applied with surprisingly quick results. In the words of Deepak Chopra, “When this knowledge is incorporated in your consciousness, it will give you the ability to create unlimited wealth with effortless ease, and to experience success in every endeavor.” This book is available in the Awareness Bookstore.

The Mystical Path offers the student a journey into Oneness. This course provides an opportunity to study the perspective of a mystic to expand our awareness of the Divine Presence in life. Students will identify the common, timeless truths of mystics, and how these truths relate to the principles, practices, and teachings of The Science of Mind. They will explore their own beliefs and experiences with the intention to discover their own mystical perspective. Students will be invited into a greater understanding of the growth of consciousness and learn how the principle of Oneness has a direct impact on the life they live. Lastly, they will present an end-of-course creative project to signify the embodiment of learning that took place during the course. Please call (530) 221-4849 for Zoom information.
